The Old Leon River Channel

The Old River path winds pleasantly through the forest along the old channel of the Leon River. The original channel was blocked when the dam was built. All that is left now is a series of quaint ponds occupied by lazy turtles, fish and the occasional water bird. If one picks the right time many of the fallen trees along the path will sport a number of interesting mushrooms. One can also find the strange “Ear Jelly” mushroom on the standing trees.
